A year ago, there was nothing yet on the site next to the company building on Bahnstraße. The machine factory A.MANNESMANN has now built a 3,000 square meter industrial hall there. The company inaugurated it on Saturday with employees and their families.
Ball screws will be produced in the new industrial hall. These are drive elements of linear technology that form the (invisible) core of machines and systems of all kinds. For example, they grind glass lenses, are involved in the production of microchips or are installed in wind turbines. A.MANNESMANN is the technology market leader in this sector.
"Assembly, shipping and quality control take place in this new production area,” says managing director Max W. Schenck. The new industrial building offers optimal conditions for this purpose. Schenck emphasizes: “The good lighting also ensures pleasant workplaces. This is paired with the latest energy technology.” The industrial hall is on a level with the already existing production area and is connected with it. According to Schenck, it was designed so that the capacity is also sufficient for new products. A parking place for employees was created next to the industrial hall on a 3,000 square meter plot.
“The planning approval came after three months. We found a local contractor in the company Dohrmann who realized the whole thing within twelve months,” says Schenck pleased about the rapid implementation of his plans. The visitors were able to follow the progression of the construction during a film screening on Saturday.
A new special machine will also be added
"In addition, there is the investment in a complex special machine for grinding threads that will only be available from us worldwide. The quality assurance will also be expanded with new test benches,” explains Schenck. The aim is to increase the competitiveness, to expand the market position and to secure the location in the long term, which is where 150 employees work.
“The demands on us increase constantly and new markets are opening up. Our accuracy is not only in demand in terms of the product, but also with respect to deadlines and service,” explains the managing director. I have also opened up a platform for future performance and success with the new spatial possibilities.
Another main pillar of the company is the machining of long slender components for general mechanical engineering. According to Schenck, value is placed on quality. He emphasized: “Our team consists of professionals at every level.”
